Meet Russel Thompson
Russel came to work for Steve Gomez Business Coaching In 2018. As a former salon owner and with 14 years as a business trainer, he lends a tremendous amount of experience and professionalism in the area of salon and spa operations. Russel’s strengths are in helping businesses create a supportive culture and improving bottom lines with a strong service cycle.
Russel has worked within the industry for over 30 years. After 2 years in college, Russel realized that his passion was in the beauty industry and opened his first salon in 1995. After much struggle in hiring top talent, creating a sustainable salon culture, and not understanding the financial structures that make business thrive, he closed his doors.
He met Steve Gomez in 2005 and worked through his business coaching system which drove Russel to open a new salon in 2007. Even with the tough economy, Russel was able to grow Carmichael Salon into a million dollar business.
Understanding the difficulty of running a small business profitably and trying to balance a personal life, Russel began helping other salon owners find new ways to streamline their processes and make more time for themselves.
When Russel isn’t in the salon or working with his coaching clients, he can be found exploring New York City with his two dogs and partner.
